WHEN WORK STARTS BEFORE SCHOOL DOES
Your workday starts before the school doors open. Mornings turn into a race between the commute and the drop-off line, and everyone arrives a little frazzled.
A rushed morning doesn’t stay in the car. It follows your child into the classroom and follows you into work.
A CALM START TO THE DAY
We know how much the first hour shapes the rest of a child’s day. At OSA, mornings are unhurried: breakfast from home, board games, Legos, arts and crafts, the playground or a little homework, then the trip to school.

Come in from 7:00 am on the days you choose.

We get them to school
Your child arrives at school, settled and on time, and parents are kept informed.
WHAT DOES A MORNING AT OSA LOOK LIKE?
7:00 am Arrival and check-in. A staff member greets each child.
Breakfast Kids eat the breakfast they bring from home. To be mindful of food allergies, we don’t serve breakfast, but snacks are available for purchase.
Morning Board games, Legos, arts and crafts, the playground or a little homework, with friends and familiar faces.
Fun Friday On Fridays, kids can earn fun time, usually a movie or the playground.
Before the bell We get children to school on time.
First bell Your child starts the school day settled and ready.

It’s a fair question. Mornings at OSA are kept low-key on purpose, so children start the school day settled rather than worn out.
Do I have to sign up for every day?

No. You can pick your days.
What happens when schools open two hours late?

We follow the Fairfax County Government. When the county government opens late or closes, we do the same. Call us at 703-672-0681 if you’re not sure.

Can my child do both Before- and After-School?

Yes, and many families pair them. After-School in Fairfax City has the pickup schools and what afternoons look like.
Is breakfast included?

No. Please send breakfast from home. To be mindful of food allergies, we don’t serve breakfast, and kids can eat what they bring when they arrive. Snacks are available for purchase.
